About FrostLine Industrial

Precision-engineered ice machines and cold storage systems — built for the operators who cannot afford downtime.

Our Story

FrostLine Industrial was founded in 1982 in Peachtree City, Georgia, by a team of refrigeration engineers who believed commercial ice machines could be built better — quieter, more energy-efficient, and far more reliable than the industry standard at the time.

Inspired by Japanese manufacturing principles of continuous improvement and zero-defect production, FrostLine pioneered the closed-cell evaporator design that became the foundation of our ice purity advantage. Over four decades, we have expanded from a single product line of cube ice machines to a comprehensive portfolio spanning flake, nugget, crescent, sphere, and block ice, plus walk-in freezers, blast chillers, and modular cold storage systems.

Today, with five production bases, 1,850 employees, and 42 service centers worldwide, FrostLine serves food service operators, seafood processors, hospitals, hotels, cold chain providers, and industrial operations in 64 countries.

Our Core Values

Precision Engineering

Every FrostLine product is designed to operate within tight performance tolerances. We test each unit at factory conditions before shipment and hold our manufacturing processes to Six Sigma quality standards.

Reliability Above All

Our customers operate in environments where equipment failure means lost product, lost revenue, and compromised food safety. We engineer redundancy and durability into every critical component.

Environmental Responsibility

From our refrigerant transition roadmap to our water conservation initiatives, FrostLine is committed to reducing the environmental footprint of ice production and cold storage operations.

Engineering Milestones

1982

Company Founded

FrostLine Industrial established in Peachtree City, Georgia, with an initial product line of three cube ice machine models (300, 500, and 800 kg/day capacity). First-year production: 420 units.

1991

Closed-Cell Evaporator Patent Filed

Filed U.S. patent for the closed-cell evaporator plate design that became the basis of our ice purity advantage — reducing mineral carryover into ice by 85% compared to conventional open-cell designs used at the time.

1998

ISO 9001 Certification & International Expansion

Achieved ISO 9001 quality management certification across all production facilities. Opened first overseas sales office in Osaka, Japan, beginning expansion into Asian markets.

2005

Industrial Ice Plant Division Launched

Entered the industrial ice market with flake and tube ice plants from 10 to 50 tons/day, targeting seafood processing, concrete cooling, and mining applications. Opened production facility in Qingdao, China.

2014

Cold Storage & Walk-In Product Line Added

Acquired cold room panel manufacturing capability and launched the modular walk-in cooler/freezer range, expanding from ice-only to full cold chain solutions. ISO 14001 environmental certification achieved.

2020

First R-290 Natural Refrigerant Models

Launched the FL-ECO series — FrostLine’s first ice machines using R-290 propane refrigerant (GWP 3), beginning the transition away from R-404A (GWP 3,922) in commercial ice machines.

2024

50% Low-GWP Production Milestone

Reached the milestone of shipping 50% of all new ice machine production with refrigerants below GWP 150. Annual capacity surpassed 120,000 units across five production facilities.

Product Applicability & Limitations

FrostLine ice machines and cold storage systems are designed for commercial and industrial applications. Our equipment is not intended for residential or consumer use. Product certifications (NSF/ANSI 12, ENERGY STAR, UL) apply to specific model ranges and may not cover all configurations — confirm applicable certifications with your sales representative before specifying equipment for regulated environments.

Performance specifications published on this website represent rated conditions per AHRI Standard 810 (ice machines) and ASHRAE Standard 72 (walk-in coolers/freezers). Actual field performance varies with ambient temperature, water quality, altitude, electrical supply stability, and maintenance practices.
